The Meyer Family

“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.” Mark 8:34-35

Robert and Teague Meyer began their relationship driving one hour each way to worship with and serve alongside the Silver City Church in inner city North Little Rock, Arkansas. Soon after getting married, Robert and Teague moved into the ‘hood and through their experiences, both good and bad, grew in their love for God’s church and His mission. As Danny, Katie, and Nathan shared with them about Angola’s broken and hurting people in need of the hope that the Gospel provides, Robert and Teague grew in their desire to join God’s mission in Angola. Robert and Teague are committed to working alongside Angolan Christians to reach the nation of Angola with the Gospel. They go to Angola out of a desire to be obedient to God’s call to reach the world in the name of Jesus.

In 2009 the Meyer family expanded through the adoption of their sons Efesson and Biruk. The adoption process has shaped the way the Meyer family engages the world around them. The Meyers believe in helping families and individuals find creative solutions to alleviate the consequences of poverty. These convictions will impact the Meyer family’s ministry in Angola and guide them as they look for ministries in which to get involved.

The Meyer family’s sending congregation is the Central Church of Christ in Little Rock, Arkansas.
