The Campbell Family

In that day you will say: “Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.”  Isaiah 12:4

Rusty and Laura are both graduates of Cascade College, and began their journey through life together in 1999. Rusty is a born-and-raised Oregonian, while Laura spent the first 18 years of her life in Kenya, East Africa where her parents were missionaries. Rusty and Laura have two precious sons, born on two different continents – Alex in Asia and Stephen in North America. They are truly a family of global nomads who have lived and traveled all over the world.

Rusty and Laura lived and worked as English teachers and vocational missionaries in Japan for four years, and a part of their hearts will always remain in “the Land of the Rising Sun.” Now, however, they are beginning to see the realization of a long-held dream — the dream to do mission work in Africa. Rusty grew up around a family of former Kenya missionaries who first kindled his interest in African missions. In 2007, while at Harding Graduate School, Rusty and Laura began prayerful discussions with the rest of the Angola Team about their possible place in God’s work in Angola. After a survey trip in 2008, they began making definite plans to join in His work there. By God’s grace, they take His message of hope and salvation to the people of this war-torn land.

The Campbell family’s sending congregation is the Hillsboro Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee.
