Our Ministry Focuses

In June 2008, André Banda invited us on behalf of the Angolan churches to work together with them in four areas: evangelism, church planting, leadership training, and social ministries.  That invitation has become, in a sense, our Macedonian Call (Acts 16:9).  Though ministry activities will overlap categories, we structure our planning around Banda’s categories, with one major addition:

Our Ministry Focuses

Evangelism – Healthy Angolan churches learn to take the Gospel of Christ to those who have not yet decided for Him.  We nurture this lifestyle of evangelism, which forms an essential element of church planting and church maturation.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise. ~ Proverbs 11:30

Church Planting – The most effective means that God’s Spirit uses to reach the nation of Angola is churches that plant churches that plant churches. We will continue to learn, train, and foster this type of church planting movement that crosses boundaries for the sake of the Kingdom.

So after the church at Antioch had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on Barnabas and Saul and sent them off. ~ Acts 13:3

Church Maturation – The Christian life is a journey of maturation, never a task completed.  We want Angolan churches to deeply desire maturation in every member, as the whole Body grows together.

From Christ the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. ~ Ephesians 4:16

Service Ministries – The more Angolan Christians looks like Christ, the more they will serve their communities. In this way they fulfill God’s call to be salt and light.  We join them in that journey to bless the nation.

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men. ~ Ephesians 6:7

International Relations – Our addition to Banda’s original list of four. Since the Church is a Body, we foster true partnerships between local churches on several continents, finding ways that each can supply what the others lack as we all grow together.

I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. ~ Philippians 1:4-5
