Brazil Sojourn Planned for July
Several of the members of Westover Hills are organizing a campaign to Porto Alegre, Brazil for a week during July. Tom and Megumi Evans asked Katie and me to consider joining. We’ve long wanted to make a trip to Brazil, for several reasons, and this looks to be the perfect opportunity. By God’s grace, we’ll be there. And we’re excited!
The organized campaign will include a VBS and other activities to encourage the church in Porto Alegre and the missionaries there (including Paul Morrow). Katie, Eliana, and I plan to head to Brazil perhaps a week in advance of the campaign. Our purpose will be to visit several churches and church leaders to discuss and brainstorm about Brazilian involvement in missions to Angola. Brazilian Christians have much to offer the rest of the Portuguese-speaking world, and we’re on a mission to encourage them to do so! If all goes well, we’ll be able to visit several cities and many people in this bridge-building endeavor. Meanwhile, we’ll be able to brush up on our Portuguese skills.
Please join us in prayer as we prepare for this time in Brazil. We have no doubt that God will use the connections forged there in ways that we cannot imagine. He’s good at that!
